Of Left and Right

I think I have a thing for the left-handed (and maybe the ambidextrous).
Think Bruce Willis, Gordan Ramsey, Ben Stiller, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Wahlberg, and I didn't even work the Google yet (all awesome people, if you did use Google or any other search engine, please exclude JB- because he's a young Baby, Baby, Baby, Oh!).
Doing work/writing and eating at the same time: left hand, right hand. I always imagined ambidextrous people writing with both hands and finishing homework in less time it takes to "boil handphone porridge" -talking forever on the phone- with a bestie or getting rid of an annoying caller who curses at you if you don't buy their products/give away your bank account number/etc.

Recently picked up a book, "Crazy Rich Asians" by Kevin Kwan.
It's really Asian-guai lou posh and has a lot of funny, snort-worthy moments, whilst learning the basics on the various Chinese dialects (and curses), with helpful footnotes.

On a personal note, I think I will give it one month, as everyone knows that the first few days is the so-called "induction/settling-in" period.
Not sure how it will turn out but I hope that I won't come to resent it. Almost falling asleep at your desk on the first day is not the way to start. Thankfully that didn't happen today, and thankfully, I was the one who took the first step. It's not to say that I'm not learning. I'm squeezing every opportunity I can get whether it's given or taken but looks as if I'm going to have to keep making the moves first.

an (h)our of (mis) adventure

Went to klcc celcom to fix phone problem. It can call and receive smses but can send sms. So, when it was done, my bro and I went to the cab area to hail a cab (duhh). Little did we know, klcc has their "so-called" executive cabs that had a meter starting at a freaking RM6!!!

Back to the story first.

We hailed a cab. He told us to buy a ticket. So we were like: "???" We walked to the counter and the lady gave us a paper. RM2. Then, we turned towards the cab and there was this dude already in the backseat.. We were even more: "???" and the lady at the counter opened the cab door and was talking to the cab driver.. (WE hailed the cab first didn't we??) The cab driver drove away... with the dude in the back seat.. =.=

Then, the lady walkie-talkied another cab. She said that it was coming. It was a blue executive cab. That had. A starting meter at RM6. I told my bro "That ain't right... RM6???!!!!" He opened the cab door and started asking the driver about the RM3 cabs.. Cab driver says "That's budget taxi la.. That side.."

So:
1. 1st cab didn't pick us up cuz he wasn't part of the klcc cab service thing, but picked up another guy cuz used us as distraction to get another passenger, not sure why as he counld have just picked us up and saved him the trouble.. (unluckily for him, the lady at the counter took down his number)
2. Didn't get into 2nd cab cuz it was not the right cab. Sorry uncle..
3. The nice lady refunded us our RM2 (lucky she did otherwise I'll make a big fuss there..)
4. The budget cab the we got into charged us RM0.20 (rounded up the meter to the next whole number) and tried to justify himself saying that the other cabs would have charged us RM2 extra..
5. When, we got back, we realized that we had another task to do outside (which might be done tomorrow..)

Call it a day. Even if it was just from 10.30 to 11.30

Of course there was 'textbook narcissism' by RobD.Jr. but hey, it's action for you. One other point was that there was not that much chemistry btwn *bleep* and *bleep* when they *bleep*(don't wanna spoil it for you), what a waste.

and then, there was sizzling hot Scarlett Johansson. omg, sexy springy curls, kick ass bod' and beating the crap outta guys. whoooo!

went with mom, bro and cousin sis for the 9.45pm. satisfying boom boom action. what a way to celebrate the end of the semester and my last day of exam! YEAH! night peeps.

A night of firsts.

Drinking in a bar. One (only) glass of English ale.

Watching an 11.10pm movie!!! (wanted to watch alice in wonderland 3d but was sold out so settled for alice in wonderland no 3d)

Blackout at the cinema during the movie.

Had to queue up for refund. (No ticket stub cuz had to give it in...)

I guess alice in wonderland was not meant to be. So, the next one will be alice in wonderland in 3D!!!

WhooHOOO!!!! (i'm busy reading other peeps blogs than updating my own...)

Yeah, man.. I'm blogging after SUCH a long time. Have been working so didn't have time to blog cuz by the time I'm back, my eyes feel like they're gonna pop out after staring at the computer screen.

So, today, went out with my cousin sis's and bro to Pavi... MUAHAHAH... We ate at TGI Friday's (unfortunately, it's Monday). Sinful, sinful meals. Full of cheese (and alchohol XD, my cousin sister's chicken, she's 16 next yr btw), and last but not least, our wonderful dessert which was shared between the four of us. Brownie, chocolate, caramel, nuts and ice-scream (oops...). Totally fattening and deli-sias. I'm salivating writing this. Man, gotta learn how to make it.

And the movie we watched (no outing is perfect without a movie) is Avatar... IN 3D!!!! My 1st time watching a 3D movie, I was sooo excited. I kept asking my brother (who has watched a 3D movie before) when to put on the glasses. He was like "They'll tell you when ok.. Shhh..."

The graphics were awe-striking-some, except that it was a bit blurry due to some disgusting previous wearer's grubby fingerprints on the lens of the goggles... (I didn't want to wipe them cuz I would'a missed a minute of absolute CGI coolness!!!)

The first and only time I get to wear uber-cool goggles in the dark for 3 hours!!! (too bad you can't take it home... It would have said GSC on the side...)

OMG... People, YOU SHOULD watch it in 3D!
I think the graphics in the normal movie would be just as good.

We were about to do a movie marathon with Avatar and Sherlock Holmes but oh well, the time clashed. Besides, it was a 3 hour movie. But totally worth it. The main character (now I know who he is, from Terminator Salvation) is sooo cool.

Leaving you with pictures (not today of course... of FOOD and others!!! from the past)

Red bean chewy sesame seed ball! (that's flattened)

Scones anyone? Yummy butter and mango spread!

My brother's fingers, the most delicious salad of mushrooms, greens, and pumpkin with mash potatoes as carbs (there were supposed to be pecan nuts in the salad, but I burnt them in the oven. However, they tasted like popcorn!! :-)

X'mas treats! (I've eaten the peppermint and Snickers, candy cane, candy cane.. ooh, Charlie and ze Chocolat' Factory...)

My X'mas HD baby!!!

Saturday, October 3, 2009

Got my paycheck recently. Happy happy to be earning money. Yeah! Man, I wanna play comp games now but my bro's hogging my laptop playing gta 4 (the second time). I think it seems as if my laptop belongs to him instead of me... Sooo kesian my laptop. It's as is its owner just dumped it. Poor poor lappie...

Washington DC. The DC stands for District of Columbia. Totally random.

Owh, so, I'm a quite ok using autoCAD and Photoshop but now, am trying to self learn Google Sketchup cuz I did use it last year, but barely scratched its surface and when you've used autoCAD for such a long time, you tend to hit the spacebar more times than you can imagine when using sketchup and that's not necessary. Bummer. And it's such a different learning curve. Haha, so techie..

Oh yeah, and one more thing, I have no idea why, maybe it's because of the makeup and touch-up whatever, but this twilight star... what's his name? Robert pattinson or something like that actually looks delicious on the poster... Now, I've seen his pictures when it's NOT on the poster and he just looked like he just got out of bed. Messy, scruffy and gross... Whatever happened to impressing the ladies??? Mind you, I've never watched the first movie... Nor the second which is due to premier soon? I dunno... Haha, just my opinion. Don't stir fry the opinionated.

Christmas hasn't even stepped through our doors and my brother is already singing chinese new year songs...

XD *snort*

Learnt a few things today. Two actually.

1. You invited some friends/relatives/etc over to your house and you serve them drinks. But sometimes, they don't drink it and leave it on the table. If you're a single person, as in you've never been married, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DRINK IT. Just throw it away eventhough you think it's wasteful. This is because if you do drink it, you'll never get married.

2. If your daughter is getting married and you send out invitation cards, make sure you send a biscuit (some chinese biscuit thing... not sure what it is, something like 'lou po beng' - wife biscuit). If you're son is getting married, then of course, it's the in-laws side that does this.

I learnt this from my Popo. (grandma) Lol, I guess there's always some logic into why there are these chinese traditions or sayings like don't buy shoes on chinese new year because the word for shoes in cantonese is 'hai' and it sounds as if you're sighing which is not good as it seems like entering the new year unhappy and full of burdens and things like that. I kinda like all these things, though I'm not a fanatic. Just curious that's all.

Now, off to drive manual gear in NFS: Most Wanted... learning how to... game.

100 ways of telling if... and how to manage stress ^.^

I’ve tried to shorten it but... You know you’re an architecture student when (my opinion's in bold):

1. you know the janitors by name
2. your roommates say "good morning" and you reply "good night"
(oh-so true, we do work till sun up and then sleep, if we’re LUCKY)
3. you carry a toothbrush in your backpack
(who the heck brushes when work isn’t even complete and deadline’s in 2 hours time?!)
4. someone asks you for your phone number and you give them the studios’
5. you start paying rent for your desk space in the studio (nah)
6. you total up 3 meals of the day to your breakfast
(some don’t even eat)
7. 'Red Bull' is your favourite drink
(my friends swear by this, diabetes is all I know they’ll get outta this)
8. all of the Christmas gifts you give are wrapped in trace
(no time to buy wrapping paper? or no time to clear the extra stuff scattered around the room, so recycle?)
9. you ask Santa Claus for architecture supplies (if only...)
10. you ask Santa Claus for a sleeping bag (yes, my course mates have SLEPT in the studio before, not one night only I tell you)
11. after all of your expenses, you can't afford to pay attention
(lol, we’d be griping about the money spent on an architecture tool which we only use once, during lectures)
12. you have 3 or more cups of double shot coffee espressos in one night
13. you hear the same song on the radio 3 or more times in one night
14. you know the different taste between UHU and Pritt glue
(smell yes, taste no, dunno what kind is Pritt glue anyway...)
15. you can stay alive without sunlight, communicating with people or food but you would commit suicide if the plotter (printer) doesn't plot your work out
16. the only sleep you get is in your G. E. Classes
(General Education= G.E.?, lol, we sleep during any lecture)
17. you've lost your house keys and you realized it a week later
18. you sleep more than 16 hrs at weekends
19. you dance madly at 3 am though you aren't drunk
(if work is completed... or not)
20. you take notes with your drafting pen
(my friends have forgotten what a normal pen or mechanical pencil is...)
21. you are an expert in Photoshop, illustrator and auto cad but u don't know how to use MS excel
(not me, but some of my course mates don’t)
22. you've got 2 subjects a day but you’ve got to study it the whole day (that’s cuz of the tutorials, 1 hour lecture, 5 hour tutorial where you sit in the studio sketching, then presenting your idea at the end of the 5th hour)
23. you spend more time in studio than in your own bed
(I hope not, I manage to make it home...)
24. your parents are complaining that you're not having enough fun
25. you only leave the studio to buy supplies
(yup yup, or when the lecturer wants something else and you have to walk 15 minutes to the shop, and 15 minutes back, to get it)
26. you haven't taken a shower in a week
(hope it’ll NEVER happen)
27. you see showering as a waste of time
(only if you take 45mins to 1 hour to shower... 3 to 5 minutes is enough)
28. you've dreamt about your models
(nope, not me...)
29. upon hearing 'supermodel', you think of a nicely crafted-foam core model
30. your parents have more of a social life than you
(say no more, say no more)
31. your 14-year-old brother has more of a social life than you
(I don’t have a 14 year old bro, 18, more like it, but yea, he plays computer games while I’m TRYING to finish my model. “Can you give me a hand?” “No. Busy.”)
32. you consider using broccoli for your models
(MUSHROOMS, I used mushrooms and umbrellas)

fun, fun, fun, all the colours and arrangement, and more colours and...)
34. you know all the 24-hour food places in the area
35. your friends (those not taking this course) get more sleep in one night than you do in one week
(try sleeping for an hour a day)
36. the streetlights turn off
(cuz you’re still doing your work past 7 am)
37. you consider 3AM an early night
(heck, yea)
38. everything you eat comes in single serving baggies
(kah kah, tar pau’s more like it, in those “white coffins”/Styrofoam boxes)
39. you're out on Friday nights in the studio
(only those who live near the uni)
40. the only building on campus with its lights on is your studios'
(yup, the whole building is lights out, only yours isn’t)
41. you say "It's only midnight- I have plenty of time to finish."
(procrastination to the max, then you realise, you’re not gonna make it)
42. you confuse sunrise with sunset
(happened to my friend XD, she thought she slept the day away)
43. you strangle your roommate because she said she stayed up late studying
44. your Friday night is 68 hours long (everyday’s a weekday)
45. you know how much a cubic foot of concrete weighs
(150lbs)
46. you slice your finger, and the first thing you think of is if you'll be able to finish your model
(VERY, VERY TRUE!!! My friend had 5 stitches on his finger and my lecturer said that she didn’t care and that he’d better hand in his project the next day)
47. you understand why architects have glasses and white hair
(not all... yet)
48. you call some great architects as if they were your friends
49. you know all of these are true, no exaggerations
50. you can listen to all your CD's in one night
51. certain songs remind you of studio (only when we’ve heard it so many times, so darn loudly, from the same person’s hand phone!!!)
52. sister's favourite brand names are Prada, DNKY etc... But yours are staedtler, pentel, rotring, Faber castell... (no sister, lol, but yea...)
53. you can conceptually compose the food on your plate
(my friends have done this before)
54. you go to the food shop, and order the "usual", and they understand
55. you wake up to go to uni and you're already there
56. you start wearing all black
(I don’t have black, but yea, my course mates do)
57. you have no life, and admit it
(hmm, this one’s a bit harsh... but... maybe... or not)
58. you confuse today and tomorrow (guilty of it)
59. you tell time by when other people leave studio
60. you can write a 6-page term paper by procrastinating
(60-page term paper in fact, see what procrastinating can do to you? Give you SUPER POWERS, that’s what!)
61. you hear "Didn't you wear that yesterday?' followed by "and the day before that?"
62. you roommate files a Missing Person Report
63. you count the number of days (not hours) you've been awake
(haha... true true)
64. you think days are 48 hours long (ditto)
65. "respect", "coolness', and "hatred" are all based on how much sleep you get, or lack of
66. your bed has collected a layer of dust on it
67. concept of time is not forward, but a countdown from the time a project is due ("What time is it?""4 hours 'till...")
68. you have a tent pitched in studio, but still don't go to sleep
69. doing models all night long excites you
(especially when you struggle at first but then become an expert, cut, glue, ouch, cut, glue, oh crap/sh*t/f*ck, cut, glue... glue, cut...)
70. you know the people in the studio better then your roommates
71. X-acto knives can be dangerous... as we all know or will find out (blades... dreaded blades... circular cutters, normal cutter, big blades, small blades...)
72. Beer pyramids AND Red Bull pyramids are some of our late-night late projects
73. they can always have more construction lines
(on our drawings/sketches)
74. they know the number and price of their favourite item in the snack machine downstairs
75. a break consists of moving your car
76. you test which glue will cause your model to burn faster
(my friend burnt his model, just to get rid of it)
77. when you tell people you major in "architorture”

82. when lack of sleep makes you feel and act as if you are high
(I survived!!!)
83. when any flat surface is seen as a place to take a nap (underneath the tables in the computer room ,that's where it is the warmest, in hallways, on drafting boards)
84. when the books that you read consist primarily of photographs and not so much of words (yup yup, who likes to read words anyway... not many...)

86. when you go to studio and spend more time socializing than doing work
87. when you have big enough balls to tell a critique that they are wrong (LOL!!! And don’t CRY when they TELL you that you are WRONG!!! And get into an argument where you’ll be on the losing side cuz they’re the ones grading your work, to be on the safe side, smile, nod your head, say ‘yes’ and don’t argue...)
88. when everyone in studio hates you because you are the one who plays their music too loudly
89. when you tell someone in another school that you are architecture major and they automatically assume you have no social life
90. when you have a non architect friend who wants to tag along to architecture parties because they know that architects have the best parties (REALLY???)
91. you try to do things to make your friend laugh while he is presenting (nope, but the person presenting has presented it soooo funnily that every time he presents, someone records his presentation... because they want to laugh at him...)
92. when you skip classes because you have too much work to do
(friends done that)
93. when you have an inexplicable mark running off your page because you fell asleep while drafting
(friend gone and done that... sleeping while drafting... snort... XD)
94. you lose your eyesight and you gain backache and neck ache (TOTALLY!!!)

97. when you refer to your computer as your "significant other
98. when you have nicknames for all your tools
99. when you try to talk to another person and realize that you've invented your own language and nobody else understands you
100. when a 102 degree fever or strep throat is to you no excuse to miss a crit ( internal/external review).

That’s about it.

12 Ways to Beat Stress (taken from Star Metro Classifieds 1 Sept 09)

1. Change "I have to..." to "I get to..."- be grateful that you "GET TO" do things
2. Keep toys on your desk- fun, fun... stuffed toy perhaps...
3. Write it down- write down your worries and burn, tear, shred, throw it away
4. Tackle the most stressful tasks first
5. EXERCISE
6. Breathe deeply
7. Make yourself at home- personalise your workspace
8. Drink orange juice- vitamin C
9. Sing a song- but if you CAN'T sing well, don't create stress for other people
10. Watch a funny video- no wonder I always like to watch funny movies
11. Reduce multi tasking
12. Find more about stress- learn about it to defeat it!

Hope this helps.

Public transportation

Taxi

1. There was one time I told the driver I wanted to go to Pandan Jaya LRT. He NODDED. Then, on the way, he said that a RapidKL bus overturned and had caused a huge traffic jam. So, he said he wanted to send me to Cempaka station. I, blur sotong sh*t said that I had no idea where it was but ok. (Bloody dumb, he could have driven off to some *fill in the blank* place and then *fill in the blank*. ) He had the audacity to stop at a pisang goreng stall and ask the lady to tambah more pisang goreng for him. Then, he dropped me off at the station whereby the taxi fare was RM5!! I could have asked him to go to Chan Sow Lin instead!! BUMMER!!! Wahlau, I'm never gonna be so dumb like that again. If you aren't going there you might as well have said so. He even said that it was his first day driving the taxi. What a way to make a quick buck...>:(

2. Sone taxi drivers are so talkative that there was one taxi driver who tried to wheedle my name out of me. It's just a name wut, so he said. Eleh, you tell me yours la. He even tried to ask for my handphone number, and even tried to give me his... Eh HELLO! What the...

3. With that being said, there are taxi drivers who are so nice to you i.e. chat with you/give you sweets =.=' that you were taken in by their friendliness and accidently paid RM2 extra cuz you thought that you gave the exact amount of fare... (Actually happened... T.T *money flying away...*)

LRT

1. A class in the afternoon means meeting people who sweat. School kids (haha, I can say that now I'm no longer school-going) and adults alike. The whole LRT section smelled like Kasturi (if you have been there after school, you'll know what the classroom and tables smell like). Worse, I've smelled

(if you value your sensory organs, you will skip this part or you'll lose your appetite...)

spicy-dhal... Dunno whether the guy ate roti canai and was wearing a spicy-smelling cologne or was it his pits... My nose has also picked up onions, chicken, garlic and many other smells that there are no words to describe.

2. Although there are a lot of people, it's those huge group of people-who-know-other-people that I don't like. They make noise like they own the whole place. Worse, they laugh and listen to music like they are getting ready for Cheer 2009... =.=' No offense cheerleaders...

3. People who argue/show public display of affection (PDA), talk loudly/listen to music loudly on their phones (no one is interested in your choice of music) and people who hog the handle bars (thinking that they are the only ones in the train and that everyone else has super stability powers/power suction shoes) totally irk me.

4. Sometimes there'll be no aircond LRT or KTM alike... Way to save energy... =.='

5. There was this one time, I was with a gal friend and this guy of foreign nationality wearing mirror dark glasses was staring/oogling us... Omg, it was so obvious cuz his head was facing our direction and he didn't turn his head at all. Sleeping? (yeah right...)

Bus

1. I once got into the shuttle bus and was hit in the face by vomit stench... (Crap...) I sat in the front (where its next to the driver and only has 2 seats, if you want to stand and if the driver hits the brakes, you'll fly through the windscreen, so no one usually goes there let alone sit on the floor of the bus cuz they'll be blocking the rearview mirror ^.^) to avoid getting bags shoved into my face or get an arm/shoulder massage from other people's butt (if you sit in the aisle seat, if you sit at the window seat, you have to sqeeze your way out) and when I got down, I saw a wierd coloured liquid sloshing about in the dustbin at the entrance/exit of the bus... Gross...

2. I don't know why but Friday's are the worst days especially if you take the bus during lunch. Those guys who go to the surau will rush up the bus not caring whether you're about to get off the bus. They have even entered the bus through the emergengy door at the back of the bus... =.=' So if you didn't manage to get off the bus, you have to wait one cycle of Architecture block then Admin block then only LRT station which takes about 1hour if you're lucky (whichever way you were going).

Ok, enuf ranting... Dunno whether these transportation woes are bad compared to others... Suposed to finish my project for submission tomorrow, but the internet died on me again, so I'll only post this when there's internet... It's a Thursday night btw... (just in case I post it tomorrow or goodness knows when... this internet thing is really killing my blogging style...) The bloody wireless won't connect!!! Darn it! Connect I tell you! CONNECT!!!

Pavi outing with cousin sis n bro.

Ate at Sakae Sushi (my first time there) for lunch (OMG the soft shell crabs are to faint for...) and Carl's Jr (also first time) for dinner (the burgers are bigger and better than any other burgers I've eaten, except Chilis...

Guess what we watched at the movies???!!!

17 AGAIN!!!!

*squeals* *hyperventilates* *faints*

*flap flap flap*

ZAC EFRON is sooooooooo darn CUTE!!! And we sat 3rd row in the middle... Sigh... *Drool*

I can't stop salivating... Someone PLEASE smack me!!!

Ok, now gonna sleep and dream...

KT trip

Back from a 3 days 3 nights Kuala Terengganu architectural visit since Wednesday night. We visited mosques, took pictures of mosques and drew mosques for TWO assignments due Wednesday before we reached KL @ night. Boohoo, not even a holiday T.T ... The only thing Chinese was Chinatown. :PpPpP

But the Taman Tamadun Islam was great with
all the miniature mosques and bicycle rides (although I borrowed the bike from my smaller friend and nearly made me suffer one round around the park, how to cycle when you're bigger than the bike?)

We first visited the Floating Mosque. Our hotel :Sumai Apartment, was near the beach (swweeeet....). Next was the Kuala Terengganu museum where we couldn't take any pictures and was supposed to draw 15 objects that represented/showed Terengganu's culture etc.

We visited the Taman Tamadun Islam with 21 or 23 (I can't really remember how many and I'm lazy to check them now) mini mosques from around the world (which were really fantabulous buildings, although mini ones...), we sat the tram to see the Crystal Mosque (beautiful man...), then went back to the apartment to celebrate Wen Jian's b'day.

Next day, went to fish cracker making island, then, Bukit Puteri, Istana Maziah (but could only take pictures of the outside), the White Mosque, and Pulau Duyong the boat making village (although it wasn't an island where a boat would take us to like the fish cracker making village). We went to the beach later (we were supposed to go the day before but it was already night) and my friends tried to 'drown' one another. I was holding the camera ^.^

Last day, we went to Chinatown and checked o
ut at noon. Arrived in KL at 11pm. Tried to finish 18 sketches in the bus with only my camera and hp light as the lecturer said that she wouldn't sign our sketches if there was no light (rest stops) and that we'd better pray. (luckily, we stopped at Genting... otherwise, super scr*wed).

I don't really like uploading pictures cuz they take too long with this connection, but well, here it goes...

Floating Mosque

KT museum

Mini Taj Mahal in the Islam Civilization Park

Grasshopper... hehe... my macro skills...

Al Haram Mosque in Mecca

Crystal Mosque, it looks more like tinted glass (which I think it is...)

Day 2: Sunrise from our apartment window (Master bedroom... muahahah)

Boats at KT waterfront before we leave for fish cracker making island!!!

Can you spot Mr. Crab? (with his one huge crabby patty pincer??) Enlarge if you can't see...

For Mercedes Benz fans (it's really someone's wall, you can see it frequently in KT)

Cleaning fish...

Lol... 'Batik' but sells fish products...

No smoking cuz it's a diesel tank!!!

A dead Spongebob...

...followed by his equally dead friend, Patrick the starfish... XD

On the way up to Princess Hill

Istana Maziah

White Mosque

The only picture that I uploaded with me in it... Check out the HUMONGOUS boat behind!!!

I'm right at the hull of the huge boat!!! WHEEEE!!! but scarily high up...

Ze Rou, Wen Jian, Seem Yee, Diana and Queenie molesting the sand... Shing Yie's the girl in yellow in the background but too far away to see...

Evil Me trying to pry the poor clam? that sucked in sand to hide...

My equally evil friends clam/shell collection (who went 'clamming/shelling' every time the tides hit the shore... you could see the shells hurriedly burrowing into the sand to hide, that's when they took the opportunity to catch them instead...)

KT's Chinatown, which wasn't like Petaling Street. At least Petaling Street was straight all the way. We almost got lost halfway through because it was just like any other normal road... T.T and my girlfriends spent so much time looking for souvenirs that for once, I pity the guys who tags along with girls... I mean COME ON... How long does one take to buy souvenirs?? You don't have to stare at it for 10 minutes then decide that you don't like it, then move on to the next one and the process starts all over again T.T"

Pretty no?? But Seem Yee says it looks just like Penang's...

That's it. I have a lot more photos but I don't have the time and capacity to wait for them to load... So, cheers and until next time, you'll be staring at this entry for a while.

Dang assignments...

zZzZz... baking season 3...

I baked shortbread today. My brother keeps creeping off to eat more shortbread from the tray that JUST came OUT of the OVEN!!! The empty spaces are the pieces that got eaten.

Monday 29/12/2008

Met up with Rita, Keshinn (and Li Jin? her cousin), Daryl, Joshua, Chin Meng and Wei Li (OMG!!! Wear more girly clothes!!! CUTE!!!) @ rich man's land: Pavilion.

Watched Bedtime Stories. The movie was ok but the jokes fell flat after a while like the time where (SPOILER!!!)

Skeeter's tongue got stung by a wasp/bee and he spoke funnily. It was funny for a minute. Then, (with a minority of people still laughing) it fell flat. I mean how do you expect us to keep laughing at funnyman Adam Sandler talking with his tongue stuck out for 5 minutes?? Yawn...

Another point was that the strange happenings/coincidences were not explained, except the "raining gumballs" part...

Apologies if you've not seen the movie and YET read the above... (I DID warn you...)

After the movie, we lepak-ed and took pics. Then, Joshua took my bro and I home!!! yay yay... (stingy with money...)

Joshua told us that he once found his car after an hour. Guess how long it took us to find his car?

30 minutes!!! LOL!!! Tkx Joshua for sending us home!!! and paying the parking ticket of RM !% (look at the number keys at the top of your keyboard and you'll know how much the darn parking costs)

We were looking for Tangs. Then, he couldn't remember which floor he parked on. We also came out on the wrong side while going towards the carpark after descending the escalator. The rest of the group were trying to convince us that Joshua was a bad driver... Looks like we survived after all XD

I’m using my desktop to type this as my brother is using his laptop to watch 17 episodes of some Korean drama. Don’t look at me. It’s the holidays and I’ve not even attempted to blog. Lame. So to cut the chase, I’ve been to Sunway Pyramid. Twice in a row. Tomorrow, you’re hopefully going to see pics of my first attempt at baking chocolate chip cookies and that I’ll be alive after being guinea pig (my bro too!) to my own cookies… Folly folly.

Sunday 21/12/2008

I reached outside Tzu Ken’s condo at about 10.20ish cuz I just came back from church. I heard my name called and I saw JM and Mag, and of course Tzu Ken. The 3 of us piled into Boon Hong’s car. While TzuK was firing out directions to Boon to get to Sunway, the 3 us in the back seat were chatting and squealing with excitement. Now that I put it that way, we sound like piglets. TzuK was worried that we wouldn’t reach on time for the discount at Red Box. Lol. Apologies for the lateness.

My first time in Red Box, let alone karaoke-ing. The 5 of us ordered food and drinks. Then, we sang and ate. Ken Chong and Elizabeth came in later and Eli thought the food was complimentary. So she ordered salmon and spaghetti which was the most expensive. Lol. She didn’t even finish it cuz she was full. Haha. You should have seen the look of horror on our faces when the guy came in to clear the dishes. Mag stood up and started yelling for the guy to come back because Eli hadn’t finished eating. But the guy didn’t hear anything I guess. Or maybe he did. It was really funny and fun especially when Ken Chong started singing Mamma Mia! songs. We spent about 3 hours in there and our bill was RM 108.xx. So, we each paid about RM 16.

We shared mikes. So I’m not sure if I passed any cough or flu bug to any of them… I hope not… T.T

Were suppose to go ice-skating but they had this performance thing at the rink at 4pm and since it was about 2.45pm, we could only skate for one hour cuz JM and Mag had to leave early.

Then, decided to watch movie. But the movie times were not suitable.

So we went to the anime convention and met up with Amanda (she couldn’t join us for karaoke-ing cuz she had traning/coaching) Wei, Rita (we got souvenirs in form of soft Aussie toys!!! I chose an Echidna… SOOOOO cute), Joshua and Daryl. Omg… Wei Li was dressed really cool man. Of course, she crossed dressed. She went for lunch and we were standing between the hall exit and the escalator because I we didn’t want to pay RM 15 to go in. She came back from lunch with her partner in crime and asked what on earth we were still doing there as she was gone for almost an hour and that she couldn’t believe we were still standing there. We couldn’t help it. There were soooo many cool costumes. Both guys and girls. Cosplaying and cross dressing. I thought her friend was a guy… omg… ‘He’s a SHE!!! Ok. Pretty cute for a girl/guy. She also crossed dressed so it’s not that easy to guess guy or girl.

There was this guy coming up from the escalator who dressed as Kakashi and Mag was like “KAKASHI ah!!!”. The guy turned in our direction and smiled. Omg. If it was really Kakashi, I would have fainted on the spot… He was quite cute. In fact, there were quite a few cute guys/girls. Wei Li and her friend “Kazaf” (I’m not going to put her name here cuz I heard Wei say it between laughs –she laughed when I said her friend was a guy -.-“ malula wei… guess also guess wrongly… shoot. Maybe I’ll read the manga. You’ve gotten me intrigued.) were part of them.

After standing at the exit, taking pictures of obliging cosplayers and crossdressers, freezing our tushies (which I guess aggravated my flu), we left the convention and they bought themselves some cream puffs (you will see that money and me are quite hard to part). After eating them, they bought pretzels (where I didn’t spend a single cent but peeled of a bit of JM’s pretzel).

Then, the TzuK, JM, Mag and I were ferried by Boon Hong. We each paid RM1 for the parking. JM paid in coins… LOL!!! But when it came to the toll (the total of the 2 tolls were RM3.20 and if divided by 5, it was RM 0.64 per person) XD.

After agreeing to another outing that promises ice skating, I had dinner at home, and went to church with my bro at 6.50pm. It was raining. We were there from 7.15pm until 10.45pm for X’mas preparations. When we reached home I was sooo darn tired and ill that for the first time in my life, I didn’t shower but popped straight to bed.

I got a really hawt souvenir from JM. A dogtag… Muahahaha!!! With my name spelt CORRECTLY… oOoOoOh. Lots of luv and thanks JM. Ei, hope that you, Mag and I go out soon and that Yin Lin better come back fast.

A really GREAT DAY!!! 5 stars. Lol. Like a movie review.

Saturday 20/12/2008

My cousins, my bro and I met up at Sunway. Of course my bro and I managed to get there courtesy of my cousin sis who drove us there. So, after meeting up with my other 3 cousins, the four of us girls sat in the back seat and my bro sat in the passenger seat. My cousin bro was the driver. Yes, yes. Don’t ask why we parked in Sunway only to go out of Sunway in one car. It seems where we were headed had a lacking for parking spaces.

We headed to a Mexican restaurant called Las Carre Tas. Man. The food was good. And there were 6 of us, so we ordered 5 dishes plus 2 soups (mushroom and ox tail) to share. And 4 of the dishes had CHEESE!!! Hoyeah! The other dish was 2 ribs but they were darn good. Juicy, tender. Making my mouth water... My cousin sis divided the ribs into six portions and after a while, there was one piece left. Thinking no one wanted it, my cousin brother nearly speared that piece. My cousin sis looked at him in horror and said she hadn’t eaten it yet and that she had divided equally. THAT was how good the ribs were. The 2 other dishes we ate and that I remembered clearly were Tacos and Chimichangas (if you watch Meet the Fockers, you’ll know what I mean) cuz it was what my bro and I ordered. The other dishes had complicating names. Oh well. Next time. I’m a sucker for cheese!!!

And of course I had a stupid sore throat. But I was REALLY considerate cuz I let them drink the soup first so that they wouldn’t get my germs. But I think one of them had an ‘after’ flu bug. Cuz I caught it!!! Now, I not only have a cough but also a flu. NOoOoOoOo… There goes all my X’mas food… T.T

Anyway, the bill came up to RM 222.xx. So it was about RM37.xx per person plus drinks.

And we left with a full stomach and a camera-full of pictures.

We were joking with my cousin bro to ‘step on it’ cuz we needed the loo badly where he asked us in despair that “Wasn’t there a toilet in the restaurant??!”. My cousin sis also said that if the cops stopped and saman-ed us, it wouldn’t be because we didn’t wear rear safety belts (there were 4 of us anyway) but because there were four girls in the back seat and two guys in front. All of different surnames. XD

Well, we had a ‘traffic-jam’ trying to find a way to get into Sunway after lunch. So we parked in the hotel and walked to Sunway. Then, we went to watch movie. Yes Man. Too bad the guy couldn’t print out the tickets. I like to keep movie tickets as souvenirs to prove that I watched that particular movie. But it felt like VIP as we just walked passed the person -who handles the tickets before going in- like we owned the place. Just for a moment. The movie was occasionally funny. It was rated PG 13 but seriously, I don’t think it was. The word ‘Fu*k’ and ‘P3nis’ was NOT censored. (In the movie Wanted, James McAvoy and the other guy -I forgot his name- were having a war of bad words and every sentence had censored sounds but come on, it was SOOO obvious and besides, we CAN lip read. How difficult is it to lip read ‘Fu*k’ ??)There were also about 3 cut scenes in Yes Man as it was obvious that the movie sorta jumped. But it was a worth laughing movie. If you like Jim Carrey or comedy.

After my 3 cousins went home, my cousin sis ‘belanja-ed’ my bro and I hotdogs! Just the dogs. Not with the bread. It was pretty good. Yalah, especially when someone paid for it. She even sent us home… I was contemplating of asking her to leave me to stay overnight at Sunway cuz I was gonna meet up with JM and Mag for karaoke and ice skating but I think even the guards will chuck me out.

Men will ALWAYS want what they can never get. What they have, they NEVER appreciate.

Love is not who you can live with, rather it is who you CANNOT live without.

Something exciting did happen after all. I went to the Archidex 08 at Convention Centre!!! Yeah. But sadly, the shoes I wore seriously killed my feet and my brother was already complaining tired from the look on his face or I would have stayed there the whole day, drinking in the sights and sounds. It was ok since it was my first time there, but I would probably not go there for a second time. They might show the same things again right? Anyway, my workplace also had a model housing area on showcase outside but I have no idea whether they had a booth inside cuz I had to skip some exhibitions. That's all.

a week and an outing

22 June Sunday

Ever had something you wanted to blog about but later after futile attempts of 'Later lah' did you realise that you forgot what you wanted to blog about? Well, in order to solve that problem (and to shoot around memorable, witty comments), I've decided to 'wtfb' which means 'write, then finish blogging'. It's not what it seems... =.='... Sounds tedious I know but devoid of a laptop and that's what a girl's gotta do. Not to mention that I've just dug out a whole wad of paper, torn out from kindergarten notebooks, why not recycle it by penning my e-thoughts? Come to think of it, I should study to be a doctor cuz my handwriting is hardly legible. And at this lame attempt
to waste time,I think that I might just drop the whole idea since it is troublesome to retype 5 pages of what you just wrote. Nonetheless, paper activists might come banging in the middle of the night to throw me into paper prison.

Oh and Joshua,
I know if you're reading this, the pet fish that you laughed at because you thought it couldn't eat upside down has gone to fishie heaven! It must have thought you were laughing because you saw its butt, that it died of embarrassment. My poor fishie...

I just forgot what I wanted to blog about Jia Min. See, that's what happens when I thought of this ingenious plan an hour later!!!

23 June Monday

By pure coincidence, or should I say 'destiny' *snicker*, I sat in a cab driven by the same person! The moment I got into the cab, I nearly blurted
out an oath 'oh no'. And by jove, he ain't the nicest taxi driver around. He knew where I was going this time and he spared me the "getting off the cab" theatrics of 'Syiling! Ada syiling tak?!' (meaning coins, but I can't remember if I got the spelling right... sorry Pn Rock!). He didn't use the meter and asked me to pay the amount which he thought would make him a few quick bucks but unfortunately, that WAS the amount I usually paid for a cab ride to where I was going.

24 June Tuesday

"Too near, don't want to fetch. Too far, scared traffic jam. Stay at home and sleep la!" This was said by a taxi driver to me in Canton. He's funny and oh-so true.

One condo. Two cars. One sticker. What would you do? Scan the sticker la of course. Yeah. You better believe it cuz it was what one of my colleagues did! On another incident, he sat the public transport due to fuel prices and he carried a huge bag of 50 cent coins (the 'tabung man', one of my other colleagues called him...) only to be told by the bank that he could perhaps bank the coins in the following day... Sad... But strangely funny. XD There's a specific day to bank in coins??

So, if a taxi driver is nice, jokes about, and you have a blur "not morning person"
like me who gets into the cab, what do you think would happen? A real happy taxi driver who gets a RM1 tip because yours truly thought he 'over-changed' me... Oh for the love of me. What blurness...

And today was a trip out to the rich and famous Pavilion!!! Yeah. Of course, it was to meet Rita and to take advantage of a rare opportunity to watch movies. I had Kung-Fu Panda in mind but it seems that the 8 of them (Daryl and his beloved, bro, Wei Tseng, Chin Meng, Joshua, and Liang Sheng) had other things in mind. They arrived
shortly 2 hours after bro and I were window shopping at Pav. The guy at the 'box office' asked us if we were over 18 as the movie was 18sg and I could confidently say that I was... Don't know bout the rest of them though... I thought I would regret the decision of the 9 of us, in the front row (you better believe it) to watch Wanted but I wasn't disappointed cuz I could see every pore and muscle (this was where Daryl said "Show off!") on the cute James McAvoy plus the SEXY HOT Ange Jolie. YEE HAW!!! Ok, probably not the most realistic movie but hey, don't be such a killjoy!!! The moves were sooooo freakin' cool... and unbelievable... But like I said, it's just a movie. Saw Keshinn at the food court where she gave her insight about Ange only being able to act in action movies and she gave her best pouty Angelina Jolie pose. XD What on earth? Sigh. It was a fun day after all with Joshua constantly on the look out for food and Chin Meng getting accidentally bullied by my brother who thought he wasn't lining up when purchasing snacks at the cinema. Now, leave me to my James McAvoy-ing thank you. (He acted in Atonement with Keira Knightly and it was seriously war-touching).

frustrations of a teen blogger

"hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn" said my bro when i was negotiating a 15 minute blogging time since he wanted to do his assignment but i reached the laptop FIRST...

ok.. back to the subject at hand... omg... i just had a half a day visit to a college that offered just the course i wanted to do when:
1. the college is too damn far
2. which resulted in me (maybe) having to stay in the hostel

so, we checked it out... turns out that the courses offered by the college were good, but the hostel was a real turn off... i'm not mentioning the name for safety reasons (they might pound on my door and chuck me in some kitchen, peeling potatoes for gordon ramsey, which i wouldn't mind working for... haha)

how do you expect a person who has COOKED her OWN FOOD for like forever to eat outside food everyday (no offense to you ppl)... and 4-6 people sharing a measly bathroom?? good grief... (my bro says it's much better than another college's hostel [no names here either] but i don't think i can just shove it down while living in a box room with another roomie, one study table which was as big as two school tables put together, 2 lockers and 2 chairs... i might, but then again...)

you have to pay for washing your own clothes (i thought it was already included in the water and electricity bill which is included in the rent) ....

call me 'shallow' or 'living a sheltered life' but you gotta cut me some darn slack here... i even caught sight of a red shirt guy checking us out... you could see it by the expression on his face... no way man... that pervie...

and as i can't drive... (yet)

when we returned to the college, i was just so darn shocked (and hungry) we didn't even check out the student's housing area... i just told my mom that i'll think about it...

looks like i might not be able to pursue (omg i got this fricking word wrong while trying to tell my brother i had spelt it right... fishes...) my studies in this course after all...

i'm so confused as to what i wanna do now cuz not many colleges/unis offer this course...

should i take up a similar course then??

but what about the scholarships?? not many colleges/unis offer scholarships for this similar course...

as you might be interested as to what course i'm blabbing about... it's interior architecture... sigh... a combination between interior design and architecture... sweet huh??

but the prob is what i have mentioned earlier... help me pls...

people say that we should enjoy studying life but i tell you this: I WANT TO EARN MY OWN MONEY!!!

-frustrations ended-

i threatened my bro with his own saying (refer to the beginning) once again as i interrupted him with my lamenting and he said that i was a bother...

one more thing... the student's english there ain't that pretty (and you know what i mean...)
