100 ways of telling if... and how to manage stress ^.^

I’ve tried to shorten it but... You know you’re an architecture student when (my opinion's in bold):

1. you know the janitors by name
2. your roommates say "good morning" and you reply "good night"
(oh-so true, we do work till sun up and then sleep, if we’re LUCKY)
3. you carry a toothbrush in your backpack
(who the heck brushes when work isn’t even complete and deadline’s in 2 hours time?!)
4. someone asks you for your phone number and you give them the studios’
5. you start paying rent for your desk space in the studio (nah)
6. you total up 3 meals of the day to your breakfast
(some don’t even eat)
7. 'Red Bull' is your favourite drink
(my friends swear by this, diabetes is all I know they’ll get outta this)
8. all of the Christmas gifts you give are wrapped in trace
(no time to buy wrapping paper? or no time to clear the extra stuff scattered around the room, so recycle?)
9. you ask Santa Claus for architecture supplies (if only...)
10. you ask Santa Claus for a sleeping bag (yes, my course mates have SLEPT in the studio before, not one night only I tell you)
11. after all of your expenses, you can't afford to pay attention
(lol, we’d be griping about the money spent on an architecture tool which we only use once, during lectures)
12. you have 3 or more cups of double shot coffee espressos in one night
13. you hear the same song on the radio 3 or more times in one night
14. you know the different taste between UHU and Pritt glue
(smell yes, taste no, dunno what kind is Pritt glue anyway...)
15. you can stay alive without sunlight, communicating with people or food but you would commit suicide if the plotter (printer) doesn't plot your work out
16. the only sleep you get is in your G. E. Classes
(General Education= G.E.?, lol, we sleep during any lecture)
17. you've lost your house keys and you realized it a week later
18. you sleep more than 16 hrs at weekends
19. you dance madly at 3 am though you aren't drunk
(if work is completed... or not)
20. you take notes with your drafting pen
(my friends have forgotten what a normal pen or mechanical pencil is...)
21. you are an expert in Photoshop, illustrator and auto cad but u don't know how to use MS excel
(not me, but some of my course mates don’t)
22. you've got 2 subjects a day but you’ve got to study it the whole day (that’s cuz of the tutorials, 1 hour lecture, 5 hour tutorial where you sit in the studio sketching, then presenting your idea at the end of the 5th hour)
23. you spend more time in studio than in your own bed
(I hope not, I manage to make it home...)
24. your parents are complaining that you're not having enough fun
25. you only leave the studio to buy supplies
(yup yup, or when the lecturer wants something else and you have to walk 15 minutes to the shop, and 15 minutes back, to get it)
26. you haven't taken a shower in a week
(hope it’ll NEVER happen)
27. you see showering as a waste of time
(only if you take 45mins to 1 hour to shower... 3 to 5 minutes is enough)
28. you've dreamt about your models
(nope, not me...)
29. upon hearing 'supermodel', you think of a nicely crafted-foam core model
30. your parents have more of a social life than you
(say no more, say no more)
31. your 14-year-old brother has more of a social life than you
(I don’t have a 14 year old bro, 18, more like it, but yea, he plays computer games while I’m TRYING to finish my model. “Can you give me a hand?” “No. Busy.”)
32. you consider using broccoli for your models
(MUSHROOMS, I used mushrooms and umbrellas)
33. you enjoy hanging out at 'Home and Garden Fair' (
fun, fun, fun, all the colours and arrangement, and more colours and...)
34. you know all the 24-hour food places in the area
35. your friends (those not taking this course) get more sleep in one night than you do in one week
(try sleeping for an hour a day)
36. the streetlights turn off
(cuz you’re still doing your work past 7 am)
37. you consider 3AM an early night
(heck, yea)
38. everything you eat comes in single serving baggies
(kah kah, tar pau’s more like it, in those “white coffins”/Styrofoam boxes)
39. you're out on Friday nights in the studio
(only those who live near the uni)
40. the only building on campus with its lights on is your studios'
(yup, the whole building is lights out, only yours isn’t)
41. you say "It's only midnight- I have plenty of time to finish."
(procrastination to the max, then you realise, you’re not gonna make it)
42. you confuse sunrise with sunset
(happened to my friend XD, she thought she slept the day away)
43. you strangle your roommate because she said she stayed up late studying
44. your Friday night is 68 hours long (everyday’s a weekday)
45. you know how much a cubic foot of concrete weighs
(150lbs)
46. you slice your finger, and the first thing you think of is if you'll be able to finish your model
(VERY, VERY TRUE!!! My friend had 5 stitches on his finger and my lecturer said that she didn’t care and that he’d better hand in his project the next day)
47. you understand why architects have glasses and white hair
(not all... yet)
48. you call some great architects as if they were your friends
49. you know all of these are true, no exaggerations
50. you can listen to all your CD's in one night
51. certain songs remind you of studio (only when we’ve heard it so many times, so darn loudly, from the same person’s hand phone!!!)
52. sister's favourite brand names are Prada, DNKY etc... But yours are staedtler, pentel, rotring, Faber castell... (no sister, lol, but yea...)
53. you can conceptually compose the food on your plate
(my friends have done this before)
54. you go to the food shop, and order the "usual", and they understand
55. you wake up to go to uni and you're already there
56. you start wearing all black
(I don’t have black, but yea, my course mates do)
57. you have no life, and admit it
(hmm, this one’s a bit harsh... but... maybe... or not)
58. you confuse today and tomorrow (guilty of it)
59. you tell time by when other people leave studio
60. you can write a 6-page term paper by procrastinating
(60-page term paper in fact, see what procrastinating can do to you? Give you SUPER POWERS, that’s what!)
61. you hear "Didn't you wear that yesterday?' followed by "and the day before that?"
62. you roommate files a Missing Person Report
63. you count the number of days (not hours) you've been awake
(haha... true true)
64. you think days are 48 hours long (ditto)
65. "respect", "coolness', and "hatred" are all based on how much sleep you get, or lack of
66. your bed has collected a layer of dust on it
67. concept of time is not forward, but a countdown from the time a project is due ("What time is it?""4 hours 'till...")
68. you have a tent pitched in studio, but still don't go to sleep
69. doing models all night long excites you
(especially when you struggle at first but then become an expert, cut, glue, ouch, cut, glue, oh crap/sh*t/f*ck, cut, glue... glue, cut...)
70. you know the people in the studio better then your roommates
71. X-acto knives can be dangerous... as we all know or will find out (blades... dreaded blades... circular cutters, normal cutter, big blades, small blades...)

73. they can always have more construction lines
(on our drawings/sketches)
74. they know the number and price of their favourite item in the snack machine downstairs

76. you test which glue will cause your model to burn faster

84. when the books that you read consist primarily of photographs and not so much of words (yup yup, who likes to read words anyway... not many...)
85. when cutting yourself with an x-acto seems like a good idea because it will give you an excuse for not having finished your work (as if... refer to no.46)
86. when you go to studio and spend more time socializing than doing work
87. when you have big enough balls to tell a critique that they are wrong (LOL!!! And don’t CRY when they TELL you that you are WRONG!!! And get into an argument where you’ll be on the losing side cuz they’re the ones grading your work, to be on the safe side, smile, nod your head, say ‘yes’ and don’t argue...)
88. when everyone in studio hates you because you are the one who plays their music too loudly
